Information
on Marseille
(updated 01/12/05) :
-
Marseille is a well-known city of
about 800000permanent residents. It has all the facilities you may
need, such as banks, travel agencies, garages, catholic and protestant
churches, taxis, hospital, general practitioners and specialists,
dentists, chemists, kindergarten, restaurants, snack-bars, pizzerias,
cinemas, night-clubs, etc…
-
A southern climate and high
winds make Marseille the sunniest town in France. In May, the
temperature is usually around 20°C, with the sea around 17-19°C. The
Scuba diving season is just kicking off at this time, but swimming is
only for the brave. May is certainly the best month for walking in the
Calanques, as in summer they are closed due to the risk of fire.
Visa :
Citizens from certain
countries need a French Visa to come to the conference in
Marseille.
We are ready to send you invitation letters for your visa request. If you effectively need this letter, please send
us (Euromedim2006@cern.ch) as soon as possible the following information (also for your
"accompagnants" if any):
