Acces to the Conference site

The Pharo Palace, which welcomes the conference is a perfect summing-up of this  multicultural life: a mansion given to Napoléon III by the city,  it faces the sea and the mythic “château d’If”, shelter of the “Comte de Monte Cristo”, overlooking the “Vieux Port”, forever famous in Marcel Pagnol’s writings. It’s a majestic and unique place, dominating the sea in a most impressive way, remarcably furnished and well equipped to welcome the congress attendees.
 
1 Acces by car :

Arrival from A7 highway (North), Berre/Marignane section :

  • Take the A55 highway (autoroute du Littoral) - Direction Vieux-Port, La Joliette
  • Take the exit: Le Pharo and turn right
  • Le Pharo (the conference site) is ~ 50 m on your right

Arrival from the A50 highway (East) :

  • At the highway end, take the direction: "Le vieux port"
  • At "Le vieux port" take left and right to go along the port by the left
  • Keep left (do not take the highway starting on your right)
  • Le Pharo (the conference site) is ~ 300 m on your right
 
2 Acces by plane


Three solutions :


 Take a taxi to reach: "Le Pharo" (conference site) (approximate cost during week days : 60 €)

 

Using public transportations : (approximate cost during week days : 10 €)

  • Take the bus between airport and Saint Charles railway station
    (Shuttle every 20 minutes between 6h20 and 22h40)
    Approximative journey length : 30 minutes
  • Take the metro from Saint Charles station till "Le Vieux Port"
  • Walk along the left of the port (~300 m) until "Le Pharo

By car (car rental) :

  • Follow D20 in direction of Marseille
  • Continue on D9, and N113 always in direction of Marseille
  • Take A7 highway, then turn on A55 - Direction Vieux-Port, La joliette
  • At "Le vieux port" take left and right to go along the port by the left
  • Keep left (do not take the highway starting on your right)
  • Le Pharo (the conference site) is ~ 300 m on your right
 

3 Access from Saint Charles railway station

 

Three solutions :

Take a taxi to reach "Le Pharo" (conference site) (approximate cost during week days : 15 €)


Use public transportation :  (approximate cost : 2 €)

  • Take the metro from Saint Charles station till "Le vieux Port"

  • Walk along the left of the port (~300 m) until "Le Pharo"

 By car (car rental) :

  • Take the avenue "La Cannebière" until "Le Vieux Port"
  • At "Le Vieux port" take left and right to go along the port by the left
  • Keep left (do not take the highway starting on your right), Le Pharo (the conference site) is ~ 300 m on your right
